American Airlines Announces Major Aircraft Purchase Agreements
American Airlines Group Inc. announced on March 2, 2024, that it has entered into definitive agreements to purchase 85 Airbus A321neo and 85 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft, with options to purchase up to an additional 150 aircraft combined. The orders extend American's existing delivery stream and are part of its continued investment to expand premium seats across its narrowbody and regional fleets. Additionally, American converted 30 of its existing 737 MAX 8 orders into 737 MAX 10 aircraft. American also ordered 90 Embraer 175 regional aircraft with purchase rights for an additional 43 aircraft. The orders are expected to support American's network expansion and meet growing customer demand for a premium travel experience.
