Caterpillar Announces Leadership Transition and Bylaw Amendments
Caterpillar Inc. announced a leadership transition with D. James Umpleby III resigning as Executive Chairman and a board member effective April 1, 2026. Joseph E. Creed, the current CEO, will assume the role of Chairman of the Board on the same date. Additionally, the Board adopted amended and restated Bylaws, changing the title of the 'Presiding Director' to 'Lead Independent Director'.
