Chime Financial Announces Acquisition of Stride Bank for $590 Million
Chime Financial, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Stride Bank, N.A. for $590 million in cash. The acquisition, which is expected to close in the first half of 2027, is intended to strengthen Chime's vertically integrated platform and accelerate its vision to become the leading consumer technology company built to bank mainstream America. The transaction is expected to be immediately accretive to Chime's earnings per share, with more than $100 million in net synergies. The acquisition will also provide Chime with a faster and more proven path to full-stack ownership versus pursuing a de novo bank charter.
