Delta and Korean Air to Strengthen Partnerships with WestJet
Delta Air Lines, Inc. today issued a press release announcing its participation in the planned acquisition of a minority stake in WestJet. Delta will invest $330 million for a 15% stake, and Korean Air will invest $220 million for a 10% stake in WestJet from Onex Partners and its affiliated funds. Upon closing, Delta intends to transfer a 2.3% stake to Air France-KLM for $50 million, subject to approval.
