Dollar Tree Completes Sale of Family Dollar Business
Dollar Tree, Inc. has completed the sale of its Family Dollar business to Brigade Capital Management and Macellum Capital Management for $1,007.5 million in cash. The transaction, which was announced on March 26, 2025, and concluded Dollar Tree's review of strategic alternatives for the Family Dollar business, is expected to provide the company with net proceeds of approximately $800 million. Dollar Tree will now focus on its core business, which includes expanding its assortment, growing its store base, and attracting new customers. The sale will also result in an expected economic impact of tax benefits from losses on the sale of approximately $375 million. A Transition Services Agreement (TSA) will be initiated with the closing of the transaction.
