Duke Energy Florida Reaches Settlement Agreement with FPSC

Summary

On July 15, 2024, Duke Energy Florida, LLC (DEF) filed a comprehensive Settlement Agreement with the Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC). The Settlement provides for a base rate stay-out provision until year-end 2027, with DEF allowed multi-year rate increases of $203 million in 2025 and $59 million in 2026. In 2027, DEF will utilize investment tax credits estimated at $50 million instead of a revenue increase. Additionally, DEF will recover solar investments through the Solar Base Rate Adjustment (SOBRA) mechanism. The Settlement is subject to FPSC approval.
