Duke Energy Announces Retirement and Appointment of Chief Accounting Officer

On December 12, 2025, Duke Energy Corporation announced that Ms. Cynthia S. Lee, Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, will retire effective December 31, 2026. Ms. Lee will transition to an advisor role from March 1, 2026, until her retirement. Ms. Abigail L. Motsinger has been appointed as the new Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, effective March 1, 2026. Ms. Motsinger, currently Vice President of Investor Relations, will receive a total direct compensation package, including an annual base salary, short-term and long-term incentive opportunities. The Compensation and People Development Committee approved her compensation. Ms. Motsinger will also participate in the Duke Energy Corporation Executive Severance Plan as a 'Tier I' participant.
