FCX Extends Grasberg Operating Rights
Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (FCX) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Indonesian government to extend the operating rights for its PT Freeport Indonesia subsidiary in the Grasberg minerals district through 2041, with an agreement for a further extension beyond 2041 subject to conditions. The MOU includes provisions for increased community support, exploration spending, domestic downstreaming, and a share transfer to the Indonesian government in 2041.
