Corning Inc. Announces Leadership Transition with Key Executive Appointments

On April 30, 2025, Corning Inc. announced a significant leadership transition. Mr. Eric S. Musser, the President and Chief Operating Officer, informed the Board of Directors of his retirement effective mid-2025 after 39 years of distinguished service. In preparation for this transition, Avery H. (Hal) Nelson III has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately, and will assume the role of COO upon Mr. Musser's retirement. Additionally, Lewis A. Steverson has been appointed as Vice Chairman, Executive Vice President, and Chief Legal and Administrative Officer, while John Z. Zhang has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Development Officer, both effective immediately. Furthermore, Wendell P. Weeks, former President of the Company, will reassume the role of President upon Mr. Musser's retirement.
