IonQ Completes Acquisition of Capella Space, Advancing Quantum Communications Vision
On July 11, 2025, IonQ, Inc. completed its acquisition of Capella Space Corp., issuing 7,401,396 shares of its common stock as consideration. The transaction, finalized under the terms of the Agreement and Plan of Merger, positions IonQ to develop the world's first global space-based quantum key distribution network. IonQ also entered into a Registration Rights Agreement with Capella's securityholders, providing them certain registration rights.
