Joby Aviation and Toyota Form Joint Venture for eVTOL Aircraft Manufacturing
On June 29, 2026, Joby Aviation, Inc. and Toyota Motor Corporation formed a joint venture, JTAMPC, to manufacture Joby's S4 Series eVTOL aircraft. Joby and Toyota each contributed $980,000 and $1,020,000, respectively, for a 49% and 51% ownership interest in JTAMPC. The joint venture will be governed by a board consisting of two directors from Joby and three from Toyota. The parties agreed to negotiate and enter into an exclusive manufacturing supply agreement and other commercial agreements before achieving the first funding milestone. The agreement includes provisions for mandatory capital contributions upon reaching specified funding milestones and contains customary representations, warranties, and other provisions.
