Cheniere Announces Final Investment Decision for Corpus Christi Expansion and Updated Outlook
Cheniere Energy, Inc. announced on June 24, 2025, the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the development, construction, and operation of the Corpus Christi Midscale Trains 8 & 9, a project expected to add over 5 million tonnes per annum of liquefaction capacity by 2028. The Company also updated its outlook, projecting a run-rate of over 60 million tonnes per annum by 2028, and plans to deploy over $25 billion in available cash through 2030 towards accretive growth, share repurchases, and dividend increases. This decision follows the issuance of a Notice to Proceed to Bechtel Energy, Inc. on June 17, 2025, for the construction of these midscale trains. Cheniere anticipates generating over $25 per share of run-rate Distributable Cash Flow by the early 2030s.
