MercadoLibre Announces Executive Transition
On May 16, 2025, MercadoLibre, Inc. announced a transition in its executive roles. Marcos Galperin, the current President and CEO, will become Executive Chairman of the Board effective January 1, 2026. Ariel Szarfsztejn, currently Commerce President, will take over as President and CEO on the same date. Szarfsztejn, who joined the company in 2017, has held several leadership positions including Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development and Executive Vice President of Commerce.
