U.S. Government Announces New Export Control Framework for AI Diffusion Impacting NVIDIA

On January 13, 2025, the U.S. Government announced the Interim Final Rule (IFR) for the “Export Control Framework for Artificial Intelligence Diffusion,” which will impose a worldwide licensing requirement on products with certain ECCNs, including many of NVIDIA’s AI-related hardware.
