LG&E and KU Reach Stipulation Agreement with Intervenors on New Generation Projects
Summary
On July 29, 2025, Louisville Gas and Electric Company (LG&E) and Kentucky Utilities Company (KU) announced the filing of a stipulation and recommendation with the Kentucky Public Service Commission (KPSC) to resolve issues with intervenors in their ongoing proceedings. The stipulation supports the construction of two 645-megawatt natural gas combined-cycle units at Brown 12 and Mill Creek 6, installation of a selective catalytic reduction facility at Ghent Unit 2, and the extension of the operation of Mill Creek Unit 2. The companies also withdrew their request for a battery storage project at Cane Run. The KPSC is expected to rule on the matter during the fourth quarter of 2025.
