Missouri American Water Files Rate Request to Support $1.6 Billion in Infrastructure Investments

Details
The investments aim to modernize and strengthen water and wastewater systems, including the replacement of aging pipelines, upgrading storage tanks, wells, pumping stations, hydrants, meters, and wastewater plants, and addressing regulatory requirements such as PFAS and other contaminants of emerging concern. If approved, the new rates could take effect in June 2027, with the average residential customer in St. Louis County seeing an increase of approximately $23 per month and those outside of St. Louis County seeing an increase of about $15 per month. Missouri American Water remains committed to affordability and offers programs to assist income-eligible customers.
