Quick Start Guide
Educational Resource: This guide explains how to interpret features in Profitelligence. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Your First 5 Minutes
Welcome! This guide gets you oriented fast. In 5 minutes, you'll know where everything is and what to look at first.
Step 1: Access the Dashboard
After signing in, you'll land on your main dashboard. This is mission control - your starting point every time you log in.
Navigation: From anywhere in the app, click the Profitelligence logo in the top-left to return to the main dashboard.
Step 2: Understand What You're Seeing
The dashboard shows three key sections:
Top Summary Cards
Three cards at the top give you the big picture:
Total Opportunities - How many stocks currently show statistically significant patterns
Average Score - The average opportunity score across all current setups (higher = stronger patterns overall)
Favorites - Stocks you've starred for quick access
These cards update automatically as new data arrives throughout the day.
Top Opportunities
Three highlighted opportunities with the highest overall scores right now. These are your "quick hits" - the strongest setups based on current patterns.
Each card shows:
- Company logo and ticker
- Overall Score (0-100) with visual progress bar
- Top Strategy - The primary pattern driving this score
- Direction badge - Bullish, bearish, or neutral
Action: Click any card to see full details in the opportunity detail panel.
All Opportunities Table
The complete list of opportunities, ranked by overall score by default. This is where you'll spend most of your time.
Columns you'll see:
- Ticker & Company - Stock symbol and name
- Sector - Industry classification
- Overall Score - Pattern strength (0-100)
- Confidence - Statistical reliability (0-100)
- Direction - Bullish/bearish/neutral indicator
- Top Strategy - Primary driver creating this score
- Favorite - Star icon to bookmark stocks
Step 3: Explore Your First Opportunity

Understanding What You're Reading
Overall Score of 78 → Strong historical pattern worth investigating
Confidence of 85 → Well-tested pattern (100+ historical examples)
Direction: Bullish → Historical patterns suggest upward price movement correlation
Top Strategy: Insider Buying → The primary driver is recent insider purchase activity
Close the panel by clicking the X or clicking outside it.
Step 4: Try Sorting and Filtering
Sorting
Click any column header to sort by that metric:
- Overall Score - Find the highest scores
- Confidence - Find the most reliable patterns
- Company - Alphabetical order
- Sector - Group by industry
Click again to reverse the sort direction.
Basic Filtering (Coming Soon)
Future updates will add filtering options:
- Score threshold (e.g., only show ≥70)
- Confidence minimum (e.g., only ≥60)
- Sector selection
- Direction (bullish only, bearish only)
For now, use sorting to focus on what matters to you.
Step 5: Bookmark Your Favorites
See something you want to track?
Click the star icon in any row to add it to your favorites.
Favorited stocks appear in the "Favorites" summary card and can be filtered to view only your watchlist.
Remove a favorite by clicking the star again.

Pro Tips for New Users
Start with High Confidence
Filter for confidence ≥70 when learning the system. High confidence patterns are easier to understand and more reliable.
Don't Chase Every Signal
You don't need to trade every opportunity. Focus on the ones that align with your strategy and make logical sense to you.
Compare Scores Over Time
Check the dashboard morning and afternoon. Watch how scores change as new data arrives. This teaches you what moves the needle.
Read the Drivers
Don't just look at the overall score. Click into opportunities and read what's driving them. This is where the real learning happens.
Use the "Last Updated" Timestamp
Stale data is dangerous. Always check when the opportunity was last refreshed. Fresh data (updated within the last few hours) is more actionable.
Common First Questions
Q: How many opportunities should I focus on?
A: Start with 3-5. Quality over quantity. Better to deeply understand a few setups than to superficially track dozens.
Q: What's a "good" overall score to look for?
A: Focus on scores ≥70 with confidence ≥60 when starting. These are well-tested, high-quality patterns.
Q: Do I need to check the dashboard every hour?
A: No. Check once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Scores don't change drastically intraday except on major news events.
Q: Can I customize what I see?
A: Currently, the dashboard shows all opportunities ranked by score. Future updates will add saved filters and custom views.
Q: What if I see an opportunity but don't understand the strategy?
A: Click into it and read the drivers. If it still doesn't make sense, skip it. Never trade what you don't understand.
Q: Should I act immediately on high scores?
A: No. Profitelligence is a research tool, not a race. High scores can persist for days. Take time to verify the thesis.
